Daggubati Venkatesh, the youngest son of Dr D Rama Naidu is popularly called as Victory Venkatesh in Tollywood. An MBA from Monterey University, USA, he became an actor in Telugu films with his debut film ‘Kaliyuga Pandavulu’ in 1986. This film also gave him his first Nandi award, a rare accomplishment for an
actor on debut. He won 7 Nandi awards, 4 Filmfare awards and many others awards as best actor for playing a variety of challenging roles in his career spanning 64 feature films in 23 years. At an early phase in his career, Venkatesh acted in ‘Swarnakamalam‘ directed by K Viswanath, which got him his second
Nandi award. ‘Bobbili Raja’ with the delightful Divyabharathi, was a big comedy and a musical hit. Venkatesh has also worked with Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma in the film ‘Kshana Kshanam‘. In 1991, ‘Chanti‘, a family drama, was a box office hit that got him a huge fan following among women in both Telugu and Hindi films. His brother D Suresh Babu, a very successful producer, has produced most of his hit films.

Till date I almost watched all of your movies both old & latest many a times but some of your movies of the late 80′s are still to be seen. No problem I ll sure cover them. I am from Vizag and you came many a times to Vizag for your film shoot but I was small then so couldn’t meet you. Now I am a B.Tech passout and recently came to the shooting of your latest film NAGAVALLI with excitement in Vizianagaram and couldn’t find you on the sets on the day when I came . So I came to “S.V.N.LAKE PALACE ” hotel where you were staying then on one evening and made a phone call to you by the receptionist after requesting him for a long time. You said him that you were too tired and will meet the next day morning at 9 am. For my passion and madness to meet you I would have stayed that night there and meet you the next day but , I was with my friends whom I can’t send back alone to Vizag for my sake and so I have to headback towards to Vizag that night. I felt that the luck to meet you is still to come for me. I will surely meet you one day sir like my dad Mr.M.D.Murthy who met you and had a photograph with you in Dolphin Hotel visakhapatnam when you were in Vizag for your film SAHASAVEERUDU SAAGARAKANYA. You were in a red fila t-shirt and a short with your regular cap style. I always watch that photograph many a times wishing to meet you one day.
